SCC Night Race Notice: Road Closures, Club Entry Procedures & Operating Hours

Roads around the 2022 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix circuit will close from 0000hrs on Wednesday, 28 September 2022 (two days before the race) until Tuesday, 4 October 2022 at 0530hrs (two days after the race).

ROAD CLOSURES & CLUB ACCESS

GENERAL VEHICULAR ROAD CLOSURE

  • St Andrews Road / Parliament Place – There will be no vehicular access into the Club from Wednesday, 28 September 0000hrs to Tuesday, 4 October 0530hrs.
  • Members who plan to drive are advised to exit the Clubhouse on Tuesday, 27 September, by 2300hrs before the road closure commences.
    St Andrews Road / Parliament Place will be fully accessible from Tuesday, 4 October, 0530hrs onwards.

PEDESTRIAN ACCESS

  • Members can access the Club on foot on Wednesday, 28 September and Thursday, 29 September via Cavenagh Bridge (Gate 4) – Esplanade Park – Club temporary side entrance along Connaught Drive. (view map here)

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

  • Due to road closures from Wednesday, 28 September to Monday, 3 October, taxis and private hire cars can only pick up and drop off passengers at the designated locations below in the F1 area:
    – Capitol Piazza at North Bridge Road
    – Peninsula Excelsior Hotel at Coleman Street
    – Income @ Raffles at Collyer Quay
    – For passengers in wheelchair: MYP Centre At Battery Road

 

SCC NIGHT RACE HOLDERS

  • As the Singapore Cricket Club is located within the circuit park, access to the Club will only be permitted for SCC Night Race ticket holders from Friday, 30 September to Sunday, 2 October.
  • The Club may be accessed via Gate 4. Members may download the circuit map from the SGP website for details and reference. (click here)

 

CLUB ENTRY PROCEDURE & OPERATING HOURS

F&B OUTLET OPERATIONS

  • The following F&B outlets will be closed from 28 September – 3 October 2022:
    – Men’s Bar
    – The Deli
    – The Padang Restaurant
    – Victoria Room
  • From 30 September to 2 October 2022, entry to the Club is only for Members and guests with the SCC Night Race ticket and the SCC membership card.
  • Members without the SCC Night Race ticket and membership card will not be permitted entry into the Club at all times, including after the race timing.
  • The Club will resume normal operations at the following F&B outlets from 3 October 2022, 3pm onwards:
    – The Oval & Verandah
    – Main Lounge
    – STUMPS

 

SPORTS FACILITIES OPERATIONS

Sports Facilities will be closed on the following dates:

  • Padang closed from 12 September to end October. Strictly NO ACCESS to Clubhouse from Padang field and vice versa, due to pre-event construction and tear-down of the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.
    – Heavy traffic by way of heavy goods vehicles and other associated machineries can be expected onto and out of the Padang field from St Andrews Road and Connaught Drive respectively.
    – Members attempting to access the Padang field from St Andrews Road, Connaught Drive and the Clubhouse during this closure period do so in express disregard to the foregoing Club Management directive and in so doing at his and her own risk.
    – The Club Management will not be liable for any damage or personal injury sustained in direct breach of this directive.
  • Partial (2 lanes) Cricket Nets closed from 12 September to end October.
  • Multi-purpose Courts closed from 22 September to 6 October. Strictly no access to Cricket Nets.
  • The Gym will be closed from 29 September to 3 October.
  • Only one Squash Court will be available on 29 September; both squash courts will then be closed from 30 September to 2 October. One squash court will reopen on 3 October; both squash courts will then be opened from 4 October.
  • Tennis Courts, Bowling Green, Billiards Tables closed from 30 September to 2 October

SCC CARPARK ACCESS & CLOSURE
  • Sections of the SCC carpark (i.e. areas below Gilmour Terrace and STUMPS Terrace) will be partially closed from Friday, 23 September 2022, for set-up.
  • Full closure of the carpark will take effect on Tuesday, 27 September at 2330hrs.
  • Half of the carpark will be re-opened on Tuesday, 4 October, at 0900hrs and will be fully operational from Friday, 7 October 2022, onwards.
